Trump's team -- of all people -- proposes a rule for the Biden admin

The Trump team has a new rule for the Biden administration: Now that you’re in charge, you have to review just about every single Health and Human Services Department regulation on the books -- all 2,400 of them. If you don’t, they’ll all expire by 2023.

According to NPR, these health rules have to do with “everything from Medicare benefits to prescription drug approvals.” If they’re all voided, millions of Americans could be left in the lurch -- and the Biden team has more important things to do (in the middle of a pandemic!) than comb through all the bureaucratic homework Trump’s team could never be bothered to address.

There is a bright spot: Per NPR, “If the proposal is finalized before Jan. 20, it is likely to be undone by the incoming Biden administration.” But as the media group’s reporting goes on to say, “In this case, even that chore… would be time-consuming and add to a long list of duties for HHS officials while they are trying to attack the pandemic.”

It’s not fair that the Trump team gets to sabotage Biden’s team like this. Bush didn’t treat Obama this way, and Obama certainly gave much better treatment to Trump, no matter how much that must have pained him. We’ll all only suffer as a result of Trump’s sadism.

We understand now more than ever that Biden’s team is going to be starting from behind -- and they need our help to make up for that disadvantage. We want to support them with bold progressive leadership in Congress, liberal legislation that will help them achieve their and our policy aims (like expanding health care for Americans, not stripping it away), and a total repudiation of the GOP’s hypocritical treachery.

Right now, the thing eating at us is that Trump’s team is on a hot streak of destruction -- and the chips are down for Biden AND for us. We won’t lie -- we could use your help, and so could your next president.

Thank you, so much, for helping us even the odds against our next president.
