A grave injustice

Today, we witnessed a grave injustice that threatens the very foundation of our democracy. The Supreme Court's decision to grant former President Trump immunity for his actions during his presidency is a slap in the face to every American who believes in accountability and the rule of law.

This ruling is not just about one man; it is about the principle that no one is above the law. By shielding Trump from prosecution, the Court has set a dangerous precedent that could embolden future presidents to commit crimes without fear of consequence. There’s no telling what sort of malfeasance Trump will engage in if he secures a second term.

The implications of this decision are far-reaching. It sends a chilling message that our highest office can be used as a shield for criminal conduct, undermining the integrity of our democratic institutions. This is not just a legal issue; it is a moral one. We cannot allow our country to slide into a state where the powerful are untouchable and justice is selective.

In Congress, I vow to continue fighting against this tide of corruption and to work tirelessly to uphold the principles of justice and equity. We must stand united in demanding accountability and ensuring that our leaders are held to the highest standards of conduct.

This is a critical moment in our nation's history, and I urge you to stay engaged, stay informed, and continue to fight for the values that make our country strong.

I concur with Justice Sonia Sotomayor’s opinion: “With fear for our democracy, I dissent.”

In solidarity,

Steven

P.S. It’s clear that we need to do everything in our power to defeat corrupt, power-hungry Republicans who will do ANYTHING to protect Trump. If you believe nobody should be above the law, consider donating to my campaign today so we can fight back against the MAGA Extremists.
