Elon Musk has made news over and over for himself – mostly negative, mind you – since he bought Twitter for a whopping $44 billion.
Since buying the site, he’s attempted to brand himself as a free-speech warrior, and someone who doesn’t fit into a political “box,” however we know the truth: of course, he’s a Republican.
Some stats for you:
As reported by CNN, “In January 2010 the company received a $465 million low-interest loan from the Department of Energy…”
Insider reported, “Musk's companies had received an estimated $4.9 billion in government support by 2015, and they've gotten more since.”
While receiving BILLIONS from the government, Musk has promoted himself as self-made and an intellectual giant, but none of those things were done on their own, because billionaires aren’t self-made, they are made by the money they receive from multiple sources.
Again, from insider, “[In 2021] he spoke out against government subsidies and tax incentives for US businesses. In a recent interview with TIME, he said the government was not a good "steward of capital."
In this case, Musk has been the pot calling the kettle black.
How much more Republican can you get than by being someone hoarding your billions while scoffing at people who are working for scraps and want to better their lives?
Republicans cry wolf over and over about spending on important programs like Medicaid and Unemployment, but they will happily hand over tax breaks to the people who have the most disposable income.
That’s a concept they can’t seem to ever understand: poor people don’t have “disposable income,” everything goes to keeping food on the table and the lights on.
And of course, those like Musk can’t seem to sympathize with people who struggle – when has he ever had to worry about making sure he had enough to cover a bill? NEVER.
Now, Musk’s company Tesla is tanking in the stock market, so don’t be surprised when he goes asking for some help from the government, but don’t you DARE complain about not being able to afford housing or food. That’s not what Republicans concern themselves with because they only care about their rich buddies.
And let’s not forget him encouraging his followers to vote Republican in the midterms.
If he walks like a Republican, spends like one, and talks like one… then the evidence is pretty clear. Chip in now to defeat the corporate influences and insatiable greed that drives the opposition.
