Don’t let Big Polluter cronies keep corrupting our government! |
Our climate is in a state of crisis. And the use of dirty fuels for energy is a key factor. But instead of shifting us toward climate-safe, renewable energy, former Secretary of Energy Rick Perry abused his position to support Big Polluters.
Rick Perry was a was a friend to polluters long before he was Secretary of Energy. While running the Energy Department, he supported the fossil fuel industry by meeting with major coal leaders -- going so far as to propose a bailout of the entire coal industry.
Perry left the Trump Administration last year, but he’s still a threat to our planet. And he set a dangerous precedent for industry handouts from government officials. So we need help pressuring Congress to investigate Perry -- to send a strong message that this abuse of power is unacceptable.
Stop fossil fuel cronies from abusing their power to harm our climate: Tell Congress to investigate Trump’s former Energy Secretary Rick Perry!
As Energy Secretary during the climate crisis, Rick Perry had a duty to everyone across the country to support the expansion of renewable energy projects. Instead, he used his standing to privately benefit from deals made as a public servant. He is a climate denier who drove Trump’s policy of American “energy dominance.”
While running the Energy Department, he made it a priority to increase the exports of U.S. fossil fuels. But Perry was forced to resign because of his role in Trump’s Ukraine scandal.
With Big Polluter cronies in office, there’s no way to truly fight the climate crisis. Until industry puppets like Rick Perry are investigated and held accountable for their decisions to harm the planet, we’ll continue hurtling closer to environmental doom!
With your help, we can demand Congress investigate Rick Perry and his dirty dealings while at the DOE, but we must act fast! Sign the petition now!
We have less than a decade to minimize further damage to our environment to prevent the worst impacts of climate change. We need stronger action to avoid the worst, not a rollback of our existing rules.
But Trump Administration officials care more about helping Big Polluters collect more profits -- and write bigger campaign contribution checks -- than following the science and preserving the health and safety of American communities.
This is the opposite of what our leaders should be doing. But if we want Trump Administration officials to change, they must understand that there are consequences for abusing their power. Congress must investigate Rick Perry. But our legislators will only act if they feel pressure from constituents like you!
Take action now: Demand Congress investigate Rick Perry!
Standing with you,
