WILL MIDDLEBORO REPEAT BOURNE'S MISTAKE WITH ERIC MACHADO?

I posted a comment yesterday on ERIC MACHADO facebook page that was deleted.

I posted a comment this morning on ERIC MACHADO's facebook page and the page has

now gone PRIVATE.

That seems to indicate that ERIC MACHADO can't tolerate public questioning of his positions.

Municipal employees don't belong in ELECTED OFFICES.

BOURNE elected a woman, Kari MacRae to their school committee who has created controversy about the teaching curriculum and the right wing hysteria about CRT  - critical race theory - whose genesis  originated with the KOCH TENTACLES to destroy public education.

WHITE KIDS ARE UNCOMFORTABLE BEING TAUGHT ABOUT THE BRUTALITY OF SLAVERY that has created BANNED BOOKS.

HISTORY being taught is already sorely lacking without diminishing it.

They're not being taught about the RAPE of SLAVES by WHITE OWNERS

They're not even being taught that escaped slaves were hunted with DOGS and then injured to prevent subsequent escape by shooting a foot.

They're not taught about the torture and killing of EMMETT TILL.

They're not taught about LYNCHINGS which 3 REPUBLICANS recently refused to label as HATE CRIMES.

No one is telling them about the JAPANESE INTERNMENT CAMPS [George Takei has spoken about it because he and his family were victims of the HATEFUL PRACTICE]

How about the INDIAN BOARDING SCHOOLS where children were removed from their families? The abomination continued until 1978.

How about the massacres of BLACK COMMUNITIES?

BLACK MEN were infected with SYPHILLIS and left UNTREATED, but let's not talk about it!

40 Years of Human Experimentation in America: The Tuskegee Study

Starting in 1932, 600 African American men from Macon County, Alabama were enlisted to partake in a scientific experiment on syphilis. The “Tuskegee Study of Untreated Syphilis in the Negro Male,” was conducted by the United States Public Health Service (USPHS) and involved blood tests, x-rays, spinal taps and autopsies of the subjects.

The goal was to “observe the natural history of untreated syphilis” in black populations. But the subjects were unaware of this and were simply told they were receiving treatment for bad blood. Actually, they received no treatment at all. Even after penicillin was discovered as a safe and reliable cure for syphilis, the majority of men did not receive it.

To really understand the heinous nature of the Tuskegee Experiment requires some societal context, a lot of history, and a realization of just how many times government agencies were given a chance to stop this human experimentation but didn’t.

SEX!

OMG! Let's not teach kids about the biology and science of their bodies!
[sarcasm intended]

Teaching the SCIENCE & BIOLOGY of the HUMAN BODY is already lacking and
removing SEX EDUCATION is not reasonable.

States that either fail to teach sex education or teach ABSTINANCE ONLY have
higher rates of teen pregnancies and STDs and venereal diseases because of the
failures to inform.

TEEN PREGNANCY RATES BY STATE :  LINK

The Importance of Prevention

Pregnancy and birth are significant contributors to high school dropout rates among girls. Only about 50% of teen mothers receive a high school diploma by 22 years of age, whereas approximately 90% of women who do not give birth during adolescence graduate from high school.10Teen pregnancy and childbearing are associated with increased social and economic costs through immediate and long-term effects on teen parents and their children.

  • The children of teenage mothers are more likely to have lower school achievement and to drop out of high school, have more health problems, be incarcerated at some time during adolescence, give birth as a teenager, and face unemployment as a young adult.11
  • On a positive note, between 1991 and 2015, the teen birth rate dropped 64%, which resulted in $4.4 billion in public savings in 2015 alone.12

STD statistics 2020: States with the highest rates

Sexually transmitted disease infection rates continue to rise in the United States, with combined cases of chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis hitting a new all-time high in 2018.

Additionally, each of the three most commonly reported STDs witnessed an increase in cases between 2017 and 2018, with reported gonorrhea cases increasing by 5 percent, chlamydia cases increasing by 3 percent, and primary and secondary syphilis cases increasing by a remarkable 15 percent to reach the highest number reported since 1991 (source).

In order to find out which states had the highest STD rates, we pulled the latest data from all 50 states on reported cases of the three most commonly reported sexually transmitted diseases, chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis, from the the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s 2018 STD Surveillance Report. Then, we used this data and other variables to rank all 50 states based on overall STD infection rates.

A quick note on prevention: There’s no equivalent of a security system  to help you identify carriers before having intercourse. Always make sure to use appropriate protection and choose your partners wisely.

GONORRHEA:

The disease is particularly concerning for disease specialists due to the emergence of antibiotic resistant strains of Gonorrhea, and the fact that people can get re-infected with the disease even after completing treatment.

How would a young person know that they have a medical problem if they don't understand bodily function?

I am aware of a young man whose prostate cancer was diagnosed and saved his life.

The COVID HYSTERIA has revealed the failures of public education to teach
science when too many rally round bogus cures, shun vaccinations or
repeat disinformation. COVID DEATHS represent a large percentage of
unvaccinated that are stressing the health care system.

We have cured or eliminated: DPT [Diptheria, Pertussis, Tetanus], SMALL POX, CHICKEN POX, POLIO,
MEASLES, RUBELLA, and others due to vaccinations.

There are outbreaks among the unvaccinated.
And ISRAEL just reported a case of POLIO in an unvaccinated child.

Committee to Elect Eric Machado for Middleborough School Committee

Why I am running:
With the onset of COVID, I found myself scared. Scared for my family, friends, and community. In the beginning I found myself actively trying to protect my family and all those I care about. Like so many others as time went on, I started seeing inconsistencies with what we were being told in comparison to what was actually occurring. With every new measure implemented, I found that our children were the ones that were paying the heaviest price. Having an autistic son with special needs is where I saw the most dramatic changes within my own family. Not just my own either, parents in the community where I serve as a police officer were now seeking help with their children who were developing social and emotional issues. What I was seeing was on such a grand scale that it didn’t even come close to comparing to what I had seen over the previous 16 years on the job.
Not liking what we were seeing, my wife and I became involved. We started paying attention and attending school committee meetings on a regular basis and I knew I needed to become more hands on, actually participate in making a difference. I found that there was a need for a more diverse perspective within our local school committee and I wanted to be a voice for other parents that shared the same outlook as myself . I believe as parents; it is up to us to advocate for the best possible adolescent experience within the walls of our academic facilities. There is nothing in this World more important than our young ones and everyone deserves to be heard and valued. We as parents, need to be the final say in every aspect of our children’s development, especially to include what is occurring in their time away from us while they are at school.
It is our job as parents and guardians to initiate the teaching of our personal morals and values that we believe to be important for our own specific family while our children are home but we should also be able to rest assure that when our children are attending school there are not decisions being made for them that undermine our beliefs. We do not have to surrender our children to governmental agencies just because they walk through the front door of a public-school building. No one has the right to decide what’s best for our own children aside from the parents and/or guardians especially when it comes to making health decisions and instilling a generalized one way of thinking and it should never be allowed. I believe that all genders, races, religions etc. should be valued and treated equally without disregarding one group for another group. When that occurs, we are not teaching our children about equality but instead trading one prejudice for another and that is not ok. We need to respect each family’s decision to make health choices without stifling one way of thinking for the appeasement of another. There is never an excuse for this, and it is not ok in any situation. There are also certain topics that do not need to be addressed in an academic setting (sexual orientation, contraception etc.) these topics are highly sensitive, diverse and controversial and should be left to the child’s parents or guardians to discuss, teach, and nurture. We have adjustment counselors at hand in all schools to address specific issues as they arise, but I do not believe that this needs to be topics that are uniformly addressed in any capacity and frankly, they exceed the expectation of any scope of academics. There is a time and place for everything, and the school systems should not be responsible in any way for addressing the needs of these topics, period.
We have entered into a upside down society and I believe this will not create a beneficial environment for our children if we do not make the adjustments necessary now to place more responsibilities on us as the parents/guardians. We need to partner up with our educators, be more vocal and available and come together as a community to make family the priority again and the rest will fall into place. We all need to do our part and show our children that they are our top priority. Children should not be forced to participate and understand adult situations and decisions, that’s our job not theirs.
