Fox News host Howard Kurtz reported that Vice President Kamala Harris wanted to do an interview with Joe Rogan but the popular podcaster refused while granting a three-hour spot to former President Donald Trump.
During a Sunday panel discussion on Fox News, right-wing pundit Caroline Downey argued that Trump was "humanized" during his three-hour interview with Rogan.
"And that's the net benefit to his campaign because with every TV hit that Kamala Harris does, she comes off more bitter, more angry, and more jaded, whereas Trump comes off as a normal guy," Downey opined. "So, you know, Kamala Harris claims she's trying to cater to the younger generation, but she's sticking to legacy media interviews for the most part, and she refused to go on Rogan."
CNN host Jake Tapper called out Republican vice presidential nominee J.D. Vance for baselessly claiming that retired Gen. John Kelly coordinated with Vice President Kamala Harris' campaign before calling former President Donald Trump a fascist.
"You said the other day, quote, I guarantee John Kelly talked to somebody on Kamala Harris' campaign beforehand, before he did this interview," Tapper noted during a CNN interview with Vance that aired on Sunday.
Tapper said he had "spoken with people in John Kelly's circle, and I've spoken with people in the Kamala Harris campaign."
"Oh, I'm highly skeptical of that, Jake," Vance replied. "You know the way that these attacks work."
"So you made it up," Tapper noted.
"No, I said that the American media and the American Democratic Party apparatus works a certain way," Vance fired back. "And it's interesting, we've now spent, Jake, three minutes talking about John Kelly."
"If it is true that he never spoke with anyone in Kamala Harris' orbit, I'm happy to apologize to John Kelly for misstating how he delivered this news to the Atlantic Magazine," he added.
Moments before a wide array of speakers were set to hit the stage in New York City's Madison Square Garden to boost the fortunes of Donald Trump, a Republican Party strategist told CNN that the MAGA rally is a waste of time.
Speaking with CNN's Rahel Soloman, Doug Heye bluntly stated that, with only nine days before election day, time not spent in the crucial battleground states is a mistake that could come back to haunt the former president.
With scenes from inside and outside the arena appearing on the screen, Heye was asked about the wisdom of spending time in a state where Trump was clobbered in 2020.
"Whether you're talking about Donald Trump or Kamala Harris, I'd say time spent out of the seven key states that are the swing states that could turn this election by and large is wasted time," he told the host.
"Your time is better spent in Georgia, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, North Carolina and Nevada, Arizona et cetera, than it is in Texas or in Washington, D.C. or in New York," he elaborated. "But with this Trump event yes, it's gonna get a lot of coverage –– although a lot of people, especially young males, who Trump wants to win with big margins, will probably be watching football."
On Sunday morning, NBC "Meet the Press" host Kirsten Welker was forced multiple times to contradict Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) after he stated, without any evidence, that Vice President Kamala Harris is having "her DOJ" arrest her political opponents.
As part of three interviews, including CNN and CBS, Vance showed up for that were shown on Sunday, Donald Trump's combative running mate butted heads with all the hosts and NBC's Welker was no exception.
Towards the end of his contentious interview with Welker, he changed direction and attempted to make the case that the greatest danger in the U.S. is Harris and President Joe Biden siccing the government on their critics.
After attacking former TrumpWhite House chief of staff John Kelly of being a "disgruntled " ex-employee seeking revenge because Trump fired him, Vance stated, "If he was what John Kelly said he [Trump] was then why did Donald Trump deliver peace and prosperity. He didn't arrest his political opponents as Kamala Harris and the Department of the Justice have in fact done."
"There's no evidence, there is no evidence of that," Welker interrupted as the Ohio Republican tried to talk over her.
"The Department of Justice has not been going after political political opponents?" Vance parried.
"Senator, there is no evidence of that," the host replied.
"The current Department of Justice under Kamala Harris and Joe Biden has absolutely been going after their political opponents of the current Democratic party and I think it's a disgrace, but it's happening," Vance insisted.
"There's no evidence that the DOJ is going after their political opponents. Donald Trump was indicted by federal grand juries," the NBC host shot back.
Madison Square Garden, NY — Robert Jones would have been in church on Sunday if he hadn’t felt called upon to sing on a street corner outside Madison Square Park.
“He’s a con with a cult,” Jones sang as former President Donald Trump’s followers strolled by.
Jones, from Chicago, was just one among a crowd of protesters who came to share their concerns about what a second Trump administration would mean for the U.S.
The Chicagoan told Raw Story he feared good people were being led astray by a man who put his name in God’s Bible.
“Trump is a liar,” said Jones Sunday. “We all know that.”
Jones fears Trump’s followers respond to racist dog whistles that see him embrace the support of South African Elon Musk but argue those who cross the southern border have “bad genes.”
“It’s people of color that’s a trigger,” he said. “We have to take the chains off our brains.”
Mike Hisey, 61, came dressed in pajamas, a Trump mask with wild yellow hair and a walker.
He’s been protesting Trump for eight years and used to wear a convict’s yellow jumpsuit until recently.
“He’s really mentally declined," Hisey said. “It’s just an image of fragility.”
Hisey called Trump supporters “Soft Nazis.” He was not the only protester to speak of fascism.
“It’s the maintenance of white supremacy,” said Eric, 70. He called Trump’s rhetoric “absolute bulls---“ and “Very Hitlerian.”
Mostly the Trump supporters ignored such protests, but they roared with rage when one man flipped them the bird and screamed, “F—- Trump.”
Shouted one man, “Get deported!”
Eric had a similar message for Trump: “Go home. Crawl into bed with Melania.”
