Florida considers legalizing kidnapping of trans kids by their parents
In the latest salvo in Florida's all-out assault on anything resembling a basic human right for the trans community, Republican state Sen. Clay Yarborough's new bill states explicitly that, “A court may not treat a parent′s removal of a child from another parent or from another state as unjustifiable conduct or child abuse,” if they believe the child is receiving – or merely "at risk" of receiving – gender-affirming health care. Didn't know "child kidnapping" was a "family value," but that's the GOP for ya.

Nearly 200 human rights organizations from around the world have sent a letter to the United Nations urging them to act to protect reproductive rights in the United States. The letter also calls America out for violating international law after the post-Roe spate of bans, restrictions, and other such assaults on fundamental women’s rights. Congrats, GOP: you've turned America into the kind of third world regressive nation we usually have to urge the UN to help.

The loser of the 2020 election offered his most outlandishly desperate "policy" proposal yet to try and dupe voters into elevating him back into the Oval Office. The definitely-no-plans-to-ever-EVER-deliver-on-this-promise promise this time sounded more like an episode from the 60s cartoon The Jetsons than anything seriously designed to improve people’s lives. South Carolina woman arrested after being accused of taking abortion pills
The woman was reported by staff at a hospital in Greenville, South Carolina, after she visited the facility in October 2021 experiencing labor pains about 25 weeks into her pregnancy. Soon after, she delivered a stillborn fetus. Even though this all occurred 8 months before Roe was overturned by radical right-wing justices, the woman has been arrested and awaits charges for illegally terminating a pregnancy.

The proposed legislation would make it a felony for a credit card company to process a payment for abortion pills. In case you’ve lost count, this is our 4th different story today about Republican lawmakers creating new fronts in their culture war on women and LGBTQ Americans. If their intentions to criminalize basic human rights and outright abolish others for huge swathes of citizens isn't clear by now, we don't know what it will take.
