VIDEO OF THE DAY: Jon Stewart goes megaviral destroying Trump on air

The beloved comedian beautifully roasted the disgraced ex-president for his many crimes and his increasingly absurd efforts to wriggle out of facing the music.

Take Action: Indict Ivanka Trump!

Republican congressman says "we’re not going to fix" school shootings
When confronted by reporters about the horrifying massacre at a Nashville Christian school, Tennessee Rep. Tim Burchett spoke for the entire GOP when he said "we're not going to fix" school shootings and then excused his cowardice and inaction by claiming Congress couldn't do anything "other than mess things up." It is a uniquely American problem that the leading cause of easily preventable death for children is gun violence, and as the majority party in Congress, it is the GOP's literal job to do something about it, but they won't lift a finger.

Take Action: Demand Congress pass tough banking regulations!

Radical Speaker McCarthy is a huge problem for America

John Burrows for Congress: John Burrows is the young, charismatic leader we need to solve that problem and send McCarthy packing. We can't risk another day — let alone two more years — of letting Marjorie Taylor Greene and Matt Gaetz pulling Kevin McCarthy's strings and turning our Congress into a circus of conspiracy. Can you chip in to send John Burrow to Congress and send McCarthy home in disgrace?

Head of Chicago police union threatens mass resignations, "blood in the streets" if Brandon Johnson wins mayoral election
In a reprehensibly undemocratic show of thuggery, FOP President and MAGA extremist John Catanzara threatened a work stoppage and violence if the city elects a mayor who might try to hold them accountable for their excesses. He literally says the quiet part out loud — that the police's commitment to their community is wholly contingent on who is in charge and what limits their superiors might put on their behavior or budget. So much for "protect and serve!"

Take Action: Tell Congress to pass the PRO Act and protect workers' rights!

Biden's rightward shift linked to hire of new Chief of Staff
Recently, the Biden White House has taken a very abrupt and very unwelcome shift to the right, as seen in the controversial decisions to approve the catastrophic Arctic drilling "Willow" project, a crackdown on immigration and the forcible overturning of Washington D.C.'s criminal code reforms. It would appear that the culprit is Jeffery Zient, an Obama alumn and lifelong corporate stooge who was brought in to replace Ron Klain as chief of staff. Ultimately, the President needs to remember his supporters want him to continue fighting for the progressive agenda that will serve the country and people.

Take Action: Disqualify Trump from holding public office!

Remembering the victims of the Nashville school shooting

Evelyn Dieckhaus, Hallie Scruggs, and William Kinney were all only nine years old. Haillie was the daughter of the pastor connected to the church. Katherine Koonce, 61, the principal of the school, also lost her life, along with a custodian, Mike Hill, 60 and substitute teacher Cynthia Peak, 61. May their lives be the last we have to memorialize in this agonizing fashion.

Idaho GOP introduces bill to ban traveling out of state for abortions
Not content with their already draconian ban on abortion care, Idaho Republicans are doubling down and are set to pass a bill that would make it a felony to take a minor out of state to receive abortion care, and would even allow the father of said child to sue abortion providers out of state. Republicans are trying to sell this deeply invasive and almost certainly unconstitutional hogwash as just being concerned for "parental rights" — but somehow, the teen who is about to BECOME A PARENT is the one who has no rights.

Trump's last-ditch effort to avoid prosecution BLOWS UP in his face

No Lie with Brian Tyler Cohen: This did not turn out well for Trump...

Alabama governor sends education dollars to water park
It feels like it would be beyond parody for a Republican governor to use funds intended for education on a water park, but that's exactly what Gov. Kay Ivey of Alabama is planning to do. Her new budget allocates $331 million to projects and expenses unrelated to students or teachers, including $25 million to a struggling water park project that has already sucked up $50 million in public funding. One might think Alabama's dismal, bottom-ranked education system might use the funds better...but think of all the educational opportunities found at a water park!

New York grand jury not expected to vote on possible Trump indictment this week
The grand jury is not expected to hold their next scheduled meeting on Wednesday, possibly to review Monday's new evidence from National Enquirer ex-publisher David Pecker and ensure they have the tightest legal case they can possibly bring against the disgraced ex-president.

Dominion wants Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity and other Fox hosts and executives to take the stand at trial
The main villain in Fox's obviously nonsense 2020 election conspiracies is out for blood — and wants to see the worst liars in the country squirm from the witness stand, under oath, as they admit that they knew they were lying. For the good of the nation, this trial needs to be broadcast on national television.

Wisconsin school district bans Miley Cyrus-Dolly Parton duet with ‘rainbow’ in title
If you thought the anti-LGBTQ backlash couldn't get any stupider, here's a school banning a song from being performed by a first grade class because...its "controversial" lyrics involve themes like "getting along" and "loving each other" and "different race and genders and religions." It seems that even the most basic precepts of kindergarten education are being rewritten to suit the GOP's agenda of hate.

Today’s Action: Pass the PRO Act and protect the right to unionize!

The National Labor Relation Board’s Seattle office filed a complaint against Starbucks last year for violating US labor law with extreme union-busting tactics, such as withholding benefits and pay raises from unionizing stores. Just last month, corporate employees of the coffee giant sent an open letter fighting back against the store’s continued reaction to union efforts. We can’t allow workers to continue fighting these greedy corporations on their own — it’s time for our legislators to step up and protect the right to unionize.

Starbucks is far from the only guilty corporation. In the face of worker power, corrupt bigwigs are working overtime to ensure their employees aren’t compensated properly for their work. There’s strength in numbers, and the labor movement certainly has that, but if certain senators don’t stop holding up the Protecting the Right to Organize (PRO) Act to provide more equitable conditions for all workers, the fallout across the American workforce will only worsen.

The fact is, when unions thrive, American workers and families thrive. It’s really that simple. Corporate America’s desperate efforts to get everyone back to work has reminded workers everywhere they’re worth more than low pay, low benefits, long hours, and emotional abuse from unappreciative bosses.

Call (202-224-3121) or write your senators and ask them to support the PRO Act in solidarity with the growing labor movement across the country! Send them this petition with almost 40,000 signatures in favor of its passage!

PS — Please don't forget to sign the petition to demand Kevin McCarthy pass gun reform NOW, and be sure to follow us on TwitterFacebook, and Instagram.
