Trump-lackey McCarthy’s warning: “We’re going to get the majority back”

While boasting about Donald Trump's continued political power, Republican House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy went as far as to promise “we're going to get the majority back. We're five seats away. I would bet my house.”   We know why McCarthy and Republicans are already bragging about taking back Washington.   As The Hill reports, “Republicans exceeded expectations in the last election cycle when they were projected to lose 15 members, flipping several seats in the House and winning seats eyed by Democrats in the Senate.”   And we now have the narrowest House majority in modern history.   But it seems Republicans are forgetting something. We were able to protect that majority even as the GOP unleashed a war on mail-in voting during a global pandemic. Not only that, we were able to end Trump's presidency AND take back the Senate by winning two races in Georgia -- what Republicans claimed was a red state.   We were able to do that because people like you stepped up when our country needed it most. We were victorious because, despite what the GOP thinks, grassroots power can challenge their dark money, and win.   That's why we choose to bet on the American people. While Republicans are already using their inflammatory rhetoric to outraise us, we know the right people will step up again and help us fight back against the wave of right-wing extremism threatening our country.   We could either allow Trump-aligned Republicans to take back the House next year and stymie Biden's agenda, or we can act now to safeguard our democracy and protect our majority.
