Marjorie Taylor Greene aims to be Trump's VP pick in 2024

Oh God. Why? Why us? Ok. So it appears that QAnon enthusiast and space laser aficionado Marjorie Taylor Greene's efforts to play nice with GOP leadership and clean up her public image are all in service of her greater ambition to be Donald Trump's running mate in 2024, which would be both a huge campaign boost for Democrats and an unimaginably disastrous outcome for the country in the terrifyingly possible event that the disgraced ex-president might eek out a win.

Take Action: Kick Marjorie Taylor Greene off the Homeland Security Committee!

SCOTUS’s first decision of the new term is a unanimous blow to disabled veterans
Trump Justice Amy Coney Barrett penned an opinion denying disabled veterans from filing for compensation for disabilities suffered during their service if they filed too late, even if the delay came BECAUSE of said disabilities. Navy serviceman Adolfo Arellano was left mentally incapacitated from the horrifying trauma of seeing his crewmates crushed to death in a collision with a freighter in 1977 — and due to the nature of his trauma, he didn't realize that he could file for compensation until many years later. According to ACB, the Constitution says Arellano's condition doesn't count as an “extraordinary circumstance” in determining the statute of limitation and denied him retroactive compensation.

Meta restoring Donald Trump’s Facebook and Instagram accounts
The tech giant has promised there will be "guardrails" to deter repeat offenses of promoting conspiracy theories and hate speech, which is laughable after years of allowing violent, right-wing hate speech to flourish. Without question, after the events of January 6th, Trump's presence on social media is a clear and present danger to the American people, our sanity, and our democracy. Meta's decision to restore his account under the hollow facade of some kind of vague appeal to the integrity of public discourse is nothing more than a disingenuous justification for profiting off the engagement he could bring to the company's self-serving tech bozos.

Take Action: Tell Congress to stop scam PACs!

"LibsOfTikTok" anti-LGBTQ hatemonger cozies up to Trump at Mar-a-Lago

Chaya Raichik, the New York woman behind the "LibsofTikTok" account that promotes hysterical anti-trans and homophobic narratives and singles out teachers, hospitals, and doctors for harassment and death threats from the MAGA crowd, had dinner with Trump at Mar-a-Lago. Nothing could make it more clear that her relentless efforts to smear the LGBTQ+ community as pedophiles is nothing but cynical bigotry than to see her cozying up to an unindicted Epstein accomplice and former beauty pageant owner accused of literally barging into the dressing rooms of unclothed teenage models.

Elon Musk censors documentary detailing Indian leader Modi's involvement in genocidal 2002 massacre
Ever since taking over Twitter, Musk has put on a desperately performative show of being Extremely Concerned about the imaginary censorship of right-wing voices by Big Tech — but unsurprisingly it turns out that concern does not go the other way. India's far-right Hindu supremacist government under Narendra Modi has successfully lobbied Musk to censor a documentary by the BBC exploring the role that Modi played in the deadly 2002 Gujarat anti-Muslim pogrom while he was the state's chief minister. Modi is believed to have ordered the police to stand down and possibly even gave the locations of Muslim-owned businesses to violent rioters. Over a thousand people, most of them Muslim, were killed.

President Biden can slash emissions 10% WITHOUT Congress

Evergreen Action: Last year, Democrats made historic progress in the fight for a cleaner future and a healthier planet with the Inflation Reduction Act. But EPA delays have kept us from Biden's crucial goal of cutting emissions in half. Good news! The Clean Air Act allows the president and EPA to address the toxic pollution from power plants and make the change we need without going through Big Oil’s Republican in the House or the filibuster-loving Senate — but time is running out! Please add your name to call on the Biden team to take immediate action to keep our communities and our children safe!

Arkansas Senate passes draconian anti-trans "drag show" bill
The right-wing culture war against LGBTQ+ Americans took a deeply dystopian turn with the passage of SB43 in the Arkansas Senate, which classifies drag shows as "adult entertainment" and severely restricts anyone from exhibiting "a gender identity that is different from the performer’s gender assigned at birth using clothing, makeup, or other accessories that are traditionally worn by members of and are meant to exaggerate the gender identity of the performer’s opposite sex." This is yet another bigoted Republican bill that exists solely to institutionalize right-wing conspiracy theories about LGBTQ+ Americans and terrorize the most vulnerable members of our society.

Germany, US to send battle tanks to help Ukraine fight off Russia
After weeks of deliberation, Germany has finally decided to provide 14 Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine and has been joined by the United States, which will send 31 Abrams tanks to help Ukraine resist an expected Russian spring offensive. The West has long resisted giving Ukraine offensive weapons to avoid provoking Russia, but it appears that Zelenskyy's pleas — and the pressure from war hawks and their lobbyists in Washington — have finally won out. "This extremely dangerous decision takes the conflict to a new level of confrontation," warned Moscow in the wake of the announcement.

The FDA proposes new targets to limit lead in baby food
While we appreciate the Biden administration taking action to make sure there's no poison in the baby food, we have to ask WHY WAS POISON ALLOWED IN THE BABY FOOD IN THE FIRST PLACE?

St. Cloud Times' newsroom in Minnesota loses its last reporter
In a disturbing illustration of the way that corporate consolidation and private equity has decimated local newspapers around the nation, the very last reporter at the St. Cloud Times has been laid off, leaving the Minnesota metro area of 200,000 without a local paper. It is owned by the largest newspaper company in the country, Gannett, which merged with Gatehouse in 2019 and immediately set its priorities on paying off the debt from the merger, which led to — you guessed it — mass layoffs and staff buyouts at papers like the 93-year-old St. Cloud Times. It is unclear how the paper is going to continue to function with no staff.

Today’s Action: Register voters for Wisconsin’s Supreme Court election in April!

Abortion rights are taking center stage once again, this time in Wisconsin, where progressive voters have a chance to flip control of the state Supreme Court and help restore equitable access to reproductive healthcare. Securing Democratic seats on the state’s high court could spell the end of the current, near-total abortion ban that’s been on the books since 1849. And since Republican gerrymandering in Wisconsin is some of the most egregious in the country, this may be our best chance at restoring reproductive rights for marginalized people currently being denied equitable access to care.

While progressives have managed to deliver a string of recent statewide abortion-rights victories in the wake of last summer’s disastrous SCOTUS ruling that overturned Roe v. Wade, we must be steadfast in our pursuit to restore and preserve access to the millions of folks living in Republican-dominated red states. The battle for reproductive healthcare is raging, and we must stand ready to fight.

Sign up to register voters for Wisconsin’s upcoming Supreme Court election every Friday from 12-2pm CST now until April 4! You don’t have to be in Wisconsin to join the fight, just be ready to put in the work to help identify and register new Wisconsin voters!

PS — Please don't forget to sign the petition to demand Arkansas reject the draconian anti-drag show bill, and be sure to follow us on TwitterFacebook, and Instagram.
