26,950 lives

There have been more than 400 mass shootings so far in 2022—a rate of nearly two every single day. At least 26,950 people have been killed by guns this year.

We don’t have to die like this. Our elected leaders could take action right now to keep weapons of war out of our communities and save lives. Demand the Senate reinstate the Assault Weapons Ban!

Semi-automatic assault rifles are the weapon of choice for mass shooters because they make shootings deadlier. These military-style weapons make it easy to fire more rounds, faster making it harder for victims to escape and law enforcement to intervene.

Assault weapons have been used in all of the deadliest shootings in U.S. history—Las Vegas, Sutherland Springs, Sandy Hook, and Parkland—and the two deadliest shootings this year in Uvalde and Buffalo.

In the wake of Uvalde and Buffalo, Congress finally took action to address the gun violence epidemic, passing the first major piece of legislation in nearly three decades. Now we must keep fighting to make sure that bill marks just the beginning, not the end, of federal action to stop senseless gun violence.

The House has passed a bill to reinstate the lifesaving federal assault weapons ban that expired in 2004. Please, help us keep the pressure on. Email your Senators today and urge them to do their part to keep our communities safe.

Thank you,

Dylan (he/him)
