WHEN DEMOCRATS TURN OUT : Rachel Maddow's response to AG Bill Barr is grace under pressure

From the Maddowblog last week: “For Barr to tell a national audience about his expectations for public-health guidelines and untested medical treatments is, to put it mildly, problematic.” Rachel Maddow herself put it a little differently on Twitter.

A Rachel Maddow tweet from April 8 reads ''More than 14-thousand Americans have already died. One American died every 45 seconds today. But sure, Mr. Attorney General, go on.'' Her tweet is in response to a April 8 tweet from Matt Zapotosky, which reads ''AG Bill Barr, on Fox News, refers to current restrictions as 'draconian measures' and says at the end of April, he thinks we should 'allow people to adapt more than we have, & not just tell people to go home and hide under their bed.'''

Bill Barr is covering for Trump, again, like in 2017 when he attacked the Mueller investigation in a memo that said the president was not only innocent, but that even entertaining the charges against Trump “would have grave consequences.”

Meanwhile, Rachel Maddow has shown nothing will stop her from covering hard-hitting issues like Russian election meddling and breaking the story on sick immigrant children threatened with deportation -- a story even The New York Times admits she beat them to. The Times also published a quote calling Maddow a “news doula: You know the news is going to be painful no matter what, so we might as well have someone who helps us survive it.”
