On Sept. 30, in the dead of the night, ICE agents in full military gear and armed with assault rifles rappelled from a blackhawk helicopter on the roof of an apartment complex in Chicago.
ICE then proceeded to go door-to-door, busting down doors, dragging residents out of their bed, zip-tying their hands, and shoving them into the back of pitch black U-Haul.
They detained every single person in the apartment complex, including American citizens, and most egregiously, children.
Trump is using ICE as his personal Gestapo—sending his thugs to drag children out of their beds in the middle of the night in some sick and twisted show of violence meant to scare his political enemies into submission.
This demented display of fascist violence in our cities is deeply unpopular with the American people, with 60% of Americans saying they oppose National Guard deployments in a recent New York Times/Sienna poll.
But Trump continues to escalate his war on America, expanding National Guard deployments to Chicago and Portland in just the past few days. He’s acting as if he doesn't need to worry about backlash from voters, as if there isn’t going to be another election.
And that is exactly what will happen if Trump takes the Pennsylvania Supreme Court from Democrats on November 4th.
Defend Our Courts has been warning about the coming threat for months, and we are one of the largest Democratic organizations working to stop MAGA’s coup attempt in PA. But with only 28 days left until election day, we are still being outspent 10-1 while PA is being completely blanketed with MAGA propaganda about the upcoming election.
