DOJ said to plan to ask all 50 states for voter data The DOJ has said it intends to contact all 50 states about their compliance with federal voting law, a national association of state election officials told Democracy Docket.  Numerous states already have received letters asking for sensitive voter data as the Trump administration hunts for illegal voting. Maine Sec. of State to Trump DOJ: ‘Go jump in the Gulf of Maine’ Maine is the latest state to be a target of DOJ’s demand for voter data, Democracy Docket reported. The move is part of the department’s radical anti-voting shift from defending voting rights to hunting for voter fraud. Maine Secretary of State Shenna Bellows (D) told Trump’s DOJ to “go jump in the Gulf of Maine” to “cool down” in a defiant response.

GOP quickly moves to expand anti-voting rights ruling Only a day after a federal appeals court ruled that voters in seven states can no longer enforce a key voting rights protection, the Republican National Committee (RNC) moved to spread that decision further. In a court filing, the RNC urged the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals to adopt the same extreme interpretation of the Voting Rights Act that the Eighth Circuit did. That ruling stripped away private enforcement of Section 208, a critical protection for voters with disabilities.  Coming up tomorrow A hearing is scheduled in Judicial Watch's lawsuit arguing that Illinois' state board of elections has failed to maintain its voter rolls. Judicial Watch, a right-wing organization, is also seeking access to list maintenance records. The DOJ recently filed a statement of interest in this case.

Murphy said: “We can rise to this moment and rescue … a belief in each other, a belief in goodness, a belief in unity over division.” Folks gathered again in Scotland on Monday for a rally, followed by a march, near one of Trump’s golf courses. Chanting “you are not welcome here,” they held up a large banner that read: “DONALD WHERE’S YOUR: FELONY SENTENCE, EPSTEIN FILES, HONESTY?” Trump’s EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin was interrupted by climate activists while giving a speech in the Hamptons. When the first person stood up to speak out about fossil fuels, Zeldin laughed nervously. As the next person spoke, Zeldin was slightly grinning—looking a bit more horrified. And when a third person stood up, a man started pushing some of the protesters using the bottom of a chair. I’m glad they spoke out, and that everyone was okay. In North Carolina, former Gov. Roy Cooper (D) announced his run for the open Senate seat. Cooper is a force to be reckoned with. This is a huge boost for Democrats in their bid to take back the Senate. In his announcement video, Cooper said: “Politicians in DC are running up our debt, ripping away our health care, disrespecting our veterans, cutting help for the poor, and even putting Medicare and Social Security at risk—just to give tax breaks to billionaires. That's wrong, and I've had enough.” In other campaign news, one of the architects of Project 2025, Paul Dans, is challenging GOP Sen. Lindsey Graham in the 2026 Republican primary. Dans said: “the top swamp critter is none other than Lindsey Graham.” This maga infighting is just wonderful to see. In a big loss for Trump, a judge ordered the regime to resume Medicaid reimbursements to Planned Parenthood. The organization has been crucial in providing medical care to countless women and men across the US. Former CIA officer Susan Miller called out Tulsi Gabbard and the White House for lying about the 2016 election. Miller, a Republican who oversaw intelligence assessments about foreign interference, said: “We definitely had the intel to show with high probability that the specific goal of the Russians was to get Trump elected.” I almost never quote Trump, and that’s for good reason. Prosecutors always say, “Follow the money.” That’s as true here as in any other case, especially since there was a lot of money around Jeffrey Epstein, and there’s been no real public accounting of it. One of the best ways you can follow the money, at least if you’re a federal prosecutor, is by looking at Treasury Department records. One type of record, SARs, or Suspicious Activity Reports, can be a treasure trove for prosecutors, providing some of the best investigative leads they can get. SENATOR RON WYDEN explained the limited TREASURY INFORMATION provided. Senator Ron Wyden, the top Democrat on the powerful Senate Finance Committee, understands this. He’s been investigating Epstein’s finances for at least three years. The New York Times reported last week that “Some members of his staff have viewed confidential files that shed light on the immense sums of money that, they say, Mr. Epstein moved through the banking system to fuel his vast sex-trafficking network.” There are specifics: Banks flagged more than $1.5 billion in transactions involving Epstein. They included “thousands of wire transfers for the purchase and sale of artwork for rich friends, fees paid to Mr. Epstein by wealthy individuals, and payments to numerous women.” Very intriguing. “We felt from the beginning this was a follow-the-money case,” Senator Wyden said in an interview. “This horrific sex-trafficking operation cost Epstein a lot of money, and he had to get that money from somewhere.” If you want to know more about Jeffrey Epstein, read the reports and follow the money. That sort of documentation will reveal far more than a couple of grand jury transcripts, the only thing Trump has offered to make public, knowing full well judges are unlikely to go along with it. If Trump really wanted to honor his commitment to release Epstein reports, this is what he would be sharing with his followers. Instead, Senator Wyden has been working on it. Wyden can’t make all of the papers public, but the Trump administration can. Staffers working with Wyden were given very limited access to Treasury documents when they visited the agency and were only permitted to take handwritten notes. But they walked away with some key information: The largest SAR was filed by JPMorgan in late 2019 and involved a transaction of $1.1 billion. That report covered 4,700 transactions dating to 2003, including payments to women from Belarus, Russia, and Turkmenistan. (Where many of Epstein’s victims came from.) Deutsche Bank filed the second largest for about $400 million. Other sizable reports were filed by Bank of New York Mellon for $378 million and Bank of America, which filed reports on billionaire investor Leon Black’s $158 million in payments to Epstein, reportedly for tax and estate planning services. That’s a lot of tax and estate planning! Black was a co-founder of the private equity firm Apollo Global Management. He left his leadership position at the firm after his ties to Epstein were disclosed publicly. Despite DOJ’s pronouncement earlier this month that there would be no further prosecutions, it’s clear from the public narrative that Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell weren’t the only people involved in the large-scale trafficking operation they operated.
