I called my members of Congress yesterday, all very strong trump supporters and I could not find words to describe how I felt about the statements in the papers released by the espstein family and the horror of bombing innocent persons. What is beyond disappointed and disgusted in their support and praise for trump's behaviour?

Trump Immediately Violates Epstein Files Law + More Friday News Updates - 12/19/25

Hi all,

It’s Friday. We made it. You should be incredibly proud of your resilience this week. We started this week with mounting tragedies at home and abroad, but through it all, you persevered.

Donald Trump, on the other hand, is having an awful Friday morning, and the American people are being asked to accept yet another open admission of lawbreaking from his administration. As the deadline arrived under the Epstein Files Transparency Act, the Trump Justice Department confirmed it will not release all of the required records today, despite the statute’s clear mandate that all unclassified Epstein-related materials be made public within 30 days of enactment.

Instead, Trump officials now say they will release “several hundred thousand” documents today, with more possibly coming weeks or months from now. That is not compliance. It is a direct violation of federal law.

The admission came from Todd Blanche, the number two official at the Department of Justice and a former personal criminal defense lawyer to Trump. Blanche stated publicly that the department would not meet the law’s deadline, while simultaneously insisting that Trump has “said for years that he wants full transparency.”

The statute leaves no room for this kind of delay. The Epstein Files Transparency Act requires that the Attorney General make publicly available, in searchable and downloadable form, all unclassified records related to Jeffrey Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell, and their child sex trafficking operation within 30 days. Not some of the records. Not a first batch. All of them.

What the administration is now proposing is not transparency. It is a staggered disclosure designed to buy time, control narratives, and continue redactions that have already consumed extraordinary government resources.

The scale of those efforts is striking. Reporting earlier this year revealed that thousands of FBI and DOJ personnel were reassigned to work on redactions tied to the Epstein files. Between January and July alone, FBI staff logged more than 4,700 hours of overtime on this project. Nearly 70 percent of that overtime occurred in March. Separate reporting showed close to $1 million in overtime costs over a single five-day period in that same month. This suggests a scramble to scrub, conceal, and shield powerful figures, including the president himself and his wealthy associates.

This is not happening in isolation. It fits a broader pattern that defines Trump’s second presidency: aggressive secrecy, routine gaslighting, and the use of government power to protect insiders while ordinary Americans are told everything is fine.

The disconnect is especially stark when it comes to the economy. While Trump and his Cabinet post celebratory messages about “economic miracles,” Americans are reporting deep financial stress. Consumer sentiment, as measured by the University of Michigan, has fallen to 50.4, the lowest level recorded since data collection began in the 1970s. That means it is at a new all time low.

Yet administration officials and friendly media outlets continue to spin bad news as good news. Rising unemployment is reframed as “more people joining the workforce.” Weak consumer confidence is treated as a positive signal for potential interest rate cuts that benefit markets and billionaires. On financial television, analysts openly suggest that “bad news is good news” for investors. Yes, that’s a direct quote.

That framing may comfort Wall Street, but it does nothing for families struggling to afford groceries, rent, or homeownership.

At the same time, Trump’s administration is pursuing increasingly extreme exercises of executive power. The Interior Secretary has openly discussed seizing land in California and transferring it to military control along the southern border. The proposal would turn civilian land into de facto military installations, granting troops expanded authority over anyone who steps onto it. This is being justified under the banner of “states’ rights,” even as the federal government moves to override a state that contributes more to the federal treasury than nearly any other.

Layered on top of this is an unmistakable cloud of corruption. Trump Media recently announced a multibillion-dollar merger with a fusion energy company, a move that sent its stock surging despite the company’s ongoing financial losses. A struggling social media firm suddenly aligning with speculative energy technology may excite investors, but it raises serious questions about conflicts of interest when the company’s founder is also the sitting president, who has direct say over energy policy.

These are just more examples of a presidency defined less by governance than by self-protection and self-enrichment. The refusal to comply with the Epstein transparency law is not a technical delay. It’s not a bureaucratic hiccup. It is a deliberate choice to violate the law in plain sight. All to protect the wealthy and the powerful.

I’ve seen Donald Trump lie in private, lie in public, lie under oath, and lie with such confidence that he almost convinced himself. But Wednesday night’s 18-minute White House address wasn’t just a lie; it was a tantrum with a teleprompter. A grievance sermon delivered at warp speed, yelled at the American people, as if your bank account personally insulted him.

This wasn’t a presidential address. It was a hostage video starring facts bound, gagged, and shoved into the trunk of a golf cart.

Presidents usually go prime time when something big happens. War. Peace. A dead terrorist. Trump went prime time because his poll numbers are underwater and sinking fast. Sixty percent of Americans disapprove of how he’s handling the economy. That’s not a rounding error; that’s a flashing red siren screaming we don’t believe you.

And so, he yelled at us louder.

He rattled off prices—eggs, turkeys, airline tickets—like a man speed-reading a grocery receipt he found in the parking lot. He claimed costs are “coming down very fast,” which is a bold thing to say when Americans are still choosing between rent and electricity like it’s a game show called Who Wants to Stay Housed?

Here’s the thing Trump never understands: you can’t gaslight a debit card. You can’t shout inflation into submission. And you definitely can’t bully people into believing their lives are cheaper just because you said so from the Diplomatic Reception Room.

The defining problem—cost of living—was treated the way Trump treats inconvenient documents: ignored, minimized, and lied about. Rent isn’t down. Electricity isn’t down. Insurance isn’t down. Groceries aren’t magically cheaper because Trump says “believe me” at the end of a sentence.

Americans aren’t stupid. They know whether their lives are more affordable. And according to an NPR/PBS/Marist poll, 61% say the economy isn’t working for them personally. Seventy percent say the cost of living is flat-out unaffordable. Seventy. That’s not Biden’s mess. That’s Trump’s reality check.

Instead of addressing it honestly, Trump did what Trump always does: exaggerated until the truth suffocated.

If he had stuck to reality, he might have made a case. Gas prices have dipped across the country. Border crossings are down. Those are defensible claims. But Trump doesn’t do defensible; he does delusional. So instead, he invented numbers so cartoonishly overstated they crossed the line from spin into fiction.

Take the pièce de résistance: the so-called $1,776 “warrior dividend.” Checks already on the way, he said. Paid for by tariffs that magically raised “a lot more money than anyone thought.” Nobody understood it until 30 minutes ago—which should have been the first red flag. When Trump says nobody understood, what he really means is nobody asked questions about something that is completely untrue.

Tariffs don’t rain money from the sky. They’re taxes paid by consumers. You pay them. I pay them. The guy buying the eggs Trump keeps bragging about pays them. But Trump talks about tariffs the way a drunk guy talks about a casino system for playing blackjack; convinced he’s cracked the code while bleeding cash.

He blamed Biden for a country “on the brink of ruin,” then promised an economic boom “the likes of which the nation has never seen.” That line again. He’s been promising that boom since the first administration, back when things were cheap and the lies were fresh.

What he didn’t mention: unemployment quietly ticking up to 4.6%, the highest in five years. Inflation still rising month after month. Mortgage rates still brutal. Housing still unaffordable. Those facts didn’t make the cut.

Instead, we got promises about appointing a new Fed chair; because apparently monetary policy works like The Apprentice. Fire Powell, cue dramatic music, exit the Trump helicopter with a dozen long-haired women following, and poof—mortgage rates magically drop.

Even Lindsey Graham—professional Trump translator—admitted beforehand that Republicans need to focus on “fixing people’s problems.” Afterward, Graham told America to “be patient; help is on the way.” That’s Washington-speak for we have nothing concrete, so please stop yelling at us.

And then came the perfect ending. After eighteen minutes of shouting at America about how great everything is, Trump looked at the press and complained about how hard it was to give the speech. Then he sipped a Diet Coke like a man rewarding himself for surviving his own performance.

That moment said it all.

This wasn’t leadership. It was insecurity in High Definition. A president yelling because persuasion failed. A man who believes volume substitutes for truth and repetition turns fiction into fact.

Eighteen minutes. No new ideas. No real solutions. Just grievance, garbage, and a Diet Coke chaser. Eighteen minutes stolen from the country; followed by a full news cycle laundering it as leadership.

Don’t take Trump’s word for any of it, or for anything said in that wasted speech.
Believe your wallet. It’s been fact-checking Trump in real time.

We certainly don't despise you as CITIZENS OF AMERICA...save for the NEO-NAZIS and THE CHRISTIAN RIGHT, who should know better, because they're sure as hell are not serving their LORD and SAVIOUR...for he had much better things in mind as a GOOD SAMARITAN...as he would serve all under his watch...including IMMIGRANTS FROM ALL COUNTRIES on the PLANET...he wasn't in a position to PICK and CHOOSE...as he SERVED ALL with DIGNITYm, RESPECT and INCLUSION. When you look in the mirror BOTH YOU and EVERYONE ELSE outside YOUR MIRROR are IMMIGRANTS...and that's WHAT MAKES AMERICA GREAT...and to be GREAT AGAIN...means you MUST ACCEPT with OPEN ARMS those THAT CHOOSE TO COME TO AMERICA to establish a BETTER LIFE FOR THEMSELVES. We understand this in CANADA...and I truly hope we continue to EMBRACE IMMIGRATION...as we have ESTABLISHED in the PAST...It's a WIN WIN...so don't accept anything less!!
