Last night Miami sent a message no one can ignore.
Eileen Higgins won the mayor’s race — something most political insiders said couldn’t be done. After years of hearing that Florida was “too far gone,” voters in Miami proved that people still show up when they believe their voices matter.
And to me, this wasn’t just a political win. It was a reminder of the Florida I know — the Florida my parents came to after leaving Venezuela in search of hope and safety. The Florida where my dad pastored families through hard times, where neighbors helped neighbors, and where community was our strength.
Miami reminded the country of something simple but powerful: when you speak to people with dignity, with common sense, and with a focus on their families and their future — they respond.
Now we have a chance to take that energy statewide. But momentum only becomes a movement if we build on it — quickly.
That’s why I’m asking you to pitch in whatever you can today. Every contribution helps us hire organizers, talk to more voters, and grow this coalition across Florida.
Florida is not a lost cause — far from it. People here are ready for something better, something grounded in family, fairness, and a future we can believe in.
Congratulations to Mayor-elect Eileen Higgins. Now let’s make this moment count.
De corazón,
Hector
