It’s U.S. Congressman Mark Takano.
As Ranking Member of the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, I’m proud to fight for our nation's veterans every single day in Congress.
Three years ago this month, I led the passage of the PACT Act, helping over 1 million veterans receive disability compensation benefits and over 5.6 million be screened for toxic exposure.
This bill was the largest expansion of veteran healthcare in generations, and it was an honor to work with other incredible advocates for our veterans like Jon Stewart.
At a time when Trump and his Republican allies are stripping veterans of their benefits and attacking their families, it’s never been more important to stand up for those who have fought and sacrificed for our country and our safety.

As Representative for Riverside County, I serve one of the largest veteran populations in the United States — and I’m committed to working for those who have sacrificed so much for our nation.
That’s why I’m disgusted by the Trump administration’s mistreatment of veterans and active duty service members, from cutting funding from programs that help veterans avoid housing insecurity and homelessness, to issuing an executive order allowing VA hospital doctors to refuse to treat Democrats and unmarried veterans, to cutting benefits and gutting the Department of Veterans Affairs.
