Republicans said they wouldn’t try to cut Medicaid or Medicare. They lied.

Since we signed Medicaid Expansion into law, more than 670,000 of our neighbors in North Carolina have gotten covered and been able to access the care they need. Now, our Medicaid Expansion — and coverage for millions more Americans across the country — is at risk by Washington Republicans’ massive federal funding cuts.

Getting Medicaid Expansion in North Carolina took a decade of work, persistent negotiation, and teamwork. I can tell you that we had to fight like hell to get this done. And we eventually got to a bipartisan agreement to get it done.
