We’ll send a message to all subscribers when we launch! Yesterday, a large protest formed outside of the Western Governors Association annual meeting in Santa Fe, NM. Thousands rallied against the GOP’s attempt to sell-off public lands—a provision Sen. Mike Lee is trying to add to Trump’s big evil bill. Producer of the musical Hamilton, Jeffrey Seller, along with Dem Sens. Baldwin, Hickenlooper, Rosen, Schatz, and Warren, hosted a Pride event at the Kennedy Center last night. They booked the event space as an act of protest. Seller says it was their “way of reoccupying the Kennedy Center.” Attorney General Pam Bondi testified in front of the House yesterday. Her responses featured a bunch of catchphrases, and “what about Biden” responses. When Dem Rep. Rosa DeLauro asked a question, Bondi sarcastically said: “I was attempting to answer your question. Very calmly. Unlike you.” But DeLauro wasn’t having it, responding with: “Excuse me? Excuse me? Answer yes or no. I don't want to hear all of your filibuster.” No one does. Also in Congress, Dem Sen. Adam Schiff is introducing a bill to end Trump's cryptocurrency corruption. Meanwhile, Dem Rep. Haley Stevens is bringing forward a bill that would make it illegal for a president to deploy troops—without an official request directly from a state’s governor. Good. Podcaster Joe Rogan criticized Trump’s immigration abuses, stating: “These ICE raids are f***ing nuts.” He added that if Trump had said “‘we’re gonna go to arrest all the people at Home Depot … tackle people at construction sites…’ I don’t think anybody would’ve signed up for that.” Well, you did though. Pope Leo XIV sent out a strong statement, seemingly in response to Trump’s bombing of Iran: “War does not solve problems; on the contrary, it amplifies them and inflicts deep wounds on the history of peoples, which take generations to heal … May diplomacy silence the weapons! May nations chart their futures with works of peace…” Fox “News” reminded us that they don’t have the best and brightest guests on air. Like GOP Rep. Pat Harrigan, who said this yesterday about Trump dragging our country into a conflict with Iran: “We're trying to lower the temperature of global conflict while simultaneously kind of raising it here in order to lower it.” Wait, what? Adding to that, if you read any statement from Trump recently, you’d assume his cognitive decline is worse than ever. But the fact the Press continues to act like Trump is the one posting those messages on social media, is even more troubling. It’s much more sinister than Trump just sitting on his phone mashing buttons on social media. Trump has a team of people curating this propaganda. He’ll shout out ideas, they craft a message, and Trump approves every word—even the typos. It’s all intentional. Like when he misspelled his name this weekend. That’s no accident. And just yesterday, Trump lied by posting that there was a ceasefire between Israel and Iran. Every major news org blindly repeated the lie, even though Israel refused to comment on it, and Iran denied even knowing about any ceasefire. Trump uses social media as a weapon of mass distraction. But we won’t fall for it. And we won’t be distracted by any of this horrible nonsense, as we move full speed ahead against Trump’s evil budget bill. I’m proudly independent.
