Trump slams Pope Leo as "weak" and posts picture of himself as Jesus healing the sick

America's very pious president took issue with Pope Leo's reasonable criticisms of his ill-fated war in the Middle East, so Donald opted to pull back the curtain on exactly what he thinks is really going on at the Vatican these days. Trump took to his social media platform and declared, without evidence, of course: "He wasn’t on any list to be Pope, and was only put there by the Church because he was an American, and they thought that would be the best way to deal with President Donald J. Trump. If I wasn’t in the White House, Leo wouldn’t be in the Vatican" — because obviously the Holy Spirit reads the MAGA tea leaves before inspiring a conclave.

But wait, there's (always) more! A mere 45 minutes later, the wannabe dictator posted an AI-generated image of himself as Jesus, performing a miracle healing on a sickened man — surrounded by eagles and American flags and soldiers and star-struck fans.

To recap: Trump attacked the Vicar of Christ for being too focused on peace, then cast himself as the Second Coming — on Orthodox Easter. Totally normal stuff from a guy who definitely never reads the Bible and still somehow enjoys the support of nearly 70% of American evangelical Christians. Just, wow.

Take Action: Demand Congress pay for healthcare, not war!

VIDEO OF THE DAY: Trump’s friendly Fox News interview turns into disaster

During a Sunday morning chat on the friendly airwaves of Fox, our imbecile-in-chief openly admitted that gas prices — which he repeatedly promised would drop below $2 per gallon once he returned to power — might very well rise even higher than their near-historic highs between now and the midterm elections, thanks to his cataclysmic adventurism in Iran.

Host Maria Bartiromo's face really gave away the game as Donald was unwittingly cutting the perfect campaign television ad for Democrats running to retake Congress. He followed that faceplant a few moments later with another epic doozy, threatening, again, to wipe out Iran's entire energy grid and destroy every bridge in the country, bombing the nation of 90 million "back to the Stone Age" — actions otherwise known as war crimes.

Take Action: Demand Congress take action to stop the next recession!

Virginia voters can stop Trump’s election rigging — and level the playing field

Virginians For Fair Elections Donald Trump and MAGA Republicans are trying to rig the 2026 midterms by pressuring red states to redraw congressional maps behind closed doors — cutting voters out of the process and stacking the deck before a single ballot is cast. Virginia has a chance to do something different. A proposed, temporary constitutional amendment would give voters — not politicians — the final say. Under the amendment, proposed congressional maps would be made public, and Virginians would be able to review them and vote on them before any maps take effect. Now, Virginians for Fair Elections is launching a statewide effort to make sure voters know what’s at stake — and to ensure Virginia leads by protecting fair representation instead of following Trump’s rigged playbook. Will you chip in today to help level the playing field and defend our democracy?

Eric Swalwell suspends campaign after sexual misconduct and rape accusations: "Deeply sorry for mistakes in judgment"
Democratic Rep. Eric Swalwell announced on Sunday night he was suspending his campaign to become California’s next governor following multiple accusations of sexual misconduct made against him last week, including those by a former staffer who accused him of raping her twice. "I am suspending my campaign for Governor,” Swalwell posted on Twitter. "To my family, staff, friends, and supporters, I am deeply sorry for mistake in judgement I’ve made in my past."

The accusations against Swalwell are disturbing, and his alleged abuse of power is hugely disappointing, but we must also take this moment to reflect on just how fundamentally different the two major political parties in our country respond to such controversies. Democrats swiftly began calling for Swalwell to abandon his bid for the governorship when the story broke, and a growing number of his colleagues are now demanding his expulsion from Congress.

Compare that to the deafening, yearslong silence of Republicans who've turned a collective blind eye to their cult leader's many, many egregious sexual transgressions, and the party's ongoing complicity in helping shield literally everyone in the Epstein class from any notion of justice or accountability. The two parties are NOT the same.

"Are you gay?" Candace Owens asks Trump whether he slept with French first lady when she "was a man" — seriously
Sure, the namesake star of the three-ring Trump circus understandably gets most of our attention, but the absolute insanity being fired from the clown cannons on the periphery is not to be missed, either.

JD Vance mocked over weekend of failures in Iran and Hungary: "On a historic roll"

Cosplay hillbilly JD Vance hopped the pond late last week to shore up support for Hungary's far-right strongman Viktor Orban and to negotiate an end to the Trump regime's catastrophic war in Iran and came back empty handed on both fronts, extending an impressive streak of dubious failures on the international stage. Vance was in Islamabad, Pakistan, on Saturday for 21 hours of talks between US and Iranian negotiators on ending the devastating conflict in the Middle East, which finally concluded without agreement.

The next day, Orban — Trump's chief authoritarian ally in Europe who has ruled for 16 years — suffered humiliating electoral defeat just days after Vance had flown into Budapest to personally boost his chances.

"JD Vance is on a historic roll," anti-MAGA pundit Ron Filipkowski noted. "He campaigns for AfD in Germany — they lose. Invited the Pope to come to US for Trump’s big event — Pope refuses. Leads peace negotiations with Iran — fails miserably. Campaigns in Hungary for Orban — who gets smoked." Keep up the great work, James David!

Federal judge dismisses Trump's $20 billion lawsuit concerning the infamous Epstein birthday letter
US District Judge Darrin P. Gayles just dismissed Donald Trump's patently absurd, $20 BILLION defamation lawsuit against The Wall Street Journal, ruling that the president failed to plausibly allege that the paper acted with "actual malice" in publishing a bombshell article about the infamous 50th birthday letter the MAGA cult leader allegedly gave the late pedophile sex trafficker.

Importantly, the court did not determine whether the article was true or false, nor whether it was defamatory. Those issues, the judge said, involve factual disputes that cannot be resolved at the motion-to-dismiss stage. Instead, the ruling focused narrowly on whether Trump had adequately alleged the required legal elements — particularly actual malice. The lawsuit was dismissed without prejudice, meaning Donald has the opportunity to amend his complaint and try again, which he almost certainly will do. The man has been a plaintiff or defendant in more than 4,000 lawsuits to date.

Bill Maher admits he was wrong about Iran war: "I thought it was worth taking the shot"
Sanctimonious late-night comic Bill Maher officially wants to throw in the towel in Iran. Six weeks after enthusiastically backing the Trump regime's catastrophic decision to start America's latest war of choice in the Middle East, Maher told his viewers Friday night he now hopes the president decides to "cut and run" because the operation to "wipe out the whole leadership at once" and liberate Iran did not work. Always good to hear pugnacious hot takes from the most entitled voices in the room — people with no skin in the game and for whom any consequence from the unspeakable brutality of war is beyond abstract.
