Trump’s violent immigration policies continue to terrorize communities across the country.
ICE agents pepper-sprayed newly sworn-in Rep. Adelita Grijalva during a violent raid on a Tucson restaurant. “When I presented myself as a member of Congress asking for more information, I was pushed aside and pepper sprayed,” she said.1
Trump recently called Rep. Ilhan Omar and other Somali immigrants “garbage.”2 Rep. Omar called Trump’s comments “completely disgusting” and advocated for an end to the ICE dragnet targeting Minneapolis-St. Paul, New Orleans, and other cities.3 Congress must take an immediate stand to end Trump’s authoritarian mass deportations.
In recent weeks, Trump’s masked ICE gangs descended on New Orleans and Minneapolis-St. Paul, following the violent “city by city playbook” of the administration’s federal invasions.4,5
In New Orleans, federal and state authorities are even surveilling protests and online criticism of the ICE raids.6
Trump’s authoritarian surveillance, arrests, deportations, and racist rants are far-reaching. They are a threat to the civil liberties, safety, and First Amendment rights of every person in America.
As Trump, Stephen Miller, and Tom Homan try to spread ICE terror to every city, we need our leaders in Congress to stop ICE’s invasions.
Sign the petition: Block Trump’s mass deportations terror now.
Thanks for taking action,
Joey and the Demand Progress team
