I believe the truth, reported with precision and told with urgency, changes things. I believe the resistance wins when it knows what it’s fighting and what it’s winning. I believe independent journalism—funded by readers, beholden to no one—is one of the most powerful tools this movement has.

So every day I pull court filings, talk directly to sources, and verify every single word. I find the wins corporate media buries, and I make sure everyone sees them.

And while I’m reporting, I’m organizing nonstop—me and my team have driven millions of contacts to Congress since 2017, and run what is the largest social media operation against Trump ever.

Today, I need 8 new paid subscribers to keep doing this work and help the resistance win big in November. I hope you become one of them. Here’s 50% off for you:

A town of 12,000 people just beat Trump’s Big Tech billionaire allies at the ballot box and corporate media barely covered it. Make sure people see what actually happened—smash the ❤️ like button and re-stack this right now.

We’ve been fighting Trump since 2016—with no advertisers, no corporate influence, and no billionaire in the back room. Everything we do runs entirely on paid subscribers. If you haven’t yet, join us today:

ARMY SECRETARY TELLS HEGSETH NO

Pete Hegseth and Army Secretary Dan Driscoll

Paranoid Pete Hegseth has spent months trying to force Army Secretary Dan Driscoll out of the Pentagon. He fired Driscoll’s ally, Army Chief of Staff Gen. Randy George, right in the middle of Trump’s attacks on Iran.

Driscoll refused for months to remove Black and female Army officers from the promotion list. Hegseth struck their names himself anyway—likely without the legal authority to do so.

Driscoll is JD Vance’s Yale Law School friend—and the White House told Hegseth he can’t touch him. So he’s been trying to make him quit instead. A current US official said Hegseth is “just really uncomfortable with anyone who could potentially be outshining him.”

The scheme is failing. Driscoll put it in writing on Tuesday: “I have no plans to depart or resign as the Secretary of the Army.” Retired Army reserve Col. Kevin Carroll summed up the internal battle: “It’s not like Driscoll is scheming and plotting to make Hegseth look bad. Hegseth takes care of that himself on a regular basis.”

MONTANA CLEARS PATH TO KILL CITIZENS UNITED

Sixteen years ago, the Supreme Court handed corporations the power to buy American elections and called it free speech. Montana just found an exit ramp.

The Montana Plan—a proposed Montana ballot measure that’s gaining steam—doesn’t overturn Citizens United. It goes around it. States grant corporate charters and decide the powers those charters include. It would simply remove “spending in elections” from those powers, killing dark money at the source.

The Montana Mining Association and the Montana Chamber of Commerce immediately ran to court to kill it before voters could sign on. But on April 2, the Montana Supreme Court rejected them 7-0.

You don’t file an emergency lawsuit to stop something you’re not afraid of. Seventy-four percent of Montana voters support it—including a majority of Republicans and independents. The campaign is driving toward a June 19 signature deadline—and the momentum is there.

Sixteen years of “nothing you can do.” Montana voters are doing something. We all should.

A JUDGE CALLED THE REGIME’S BLUFF

Image of Kilmar Abrego Garcia

Last year the regime illegally deported Kilmar Abrego Garcia, in direct violation of a court order. They sent him to El Salvador’s notorious CECOT—a mega-prison which human rights groups have described as a torture facility. The Supreme Court ordered him returned.

The regime brought him back and immediately charged him with human smuggling based on a 2022 traffic stop—where he was released without a ticket. No warning, no citation, nothing. An injunction was put in place to stop the regime from deporting him again while that case proceeded.

The DOJ went to US District Judge Paula Xinis in Maryland and tried to deport him again anyway—this time to Liberia.

Xinis called their bluff: “You can’t have it both ways—he physically needs to be in this country to be prosecuted.” She said their arguments were “one empty threat after another” and didn’t budge. The injunction stands.

The regime walked into court trying to disappear a man, and walked out with nothing.

A TOWN HANDS TRUMP’S ALLIES A BIG LOSS

One town in Wisconsin just beat some of the richest companies on earth at the ballot box. Voters in Port Washington went to the polls Tuesday and passed a referendum with 66% voting in favor. It gives residents the power to reject future large developments—effectively blocking a proposed $458 million mega data center that was backed by Big Tech.

They organized on Facebook, got arrested at a public meeting, and won big. That’s not a miracle—that’s what happens when people decide they’ve had enough.

America is not going to be saved by billionaires, algorithms, executive orders, or dark money super PACs. It has always been saved by people in communities like Port Washington, who saw a massive backroom deal and said: not on our watch.

The resistance lives in our council chambers, courtrooms, and polling places. It lives wherever someone decides that the game isn’t over just because the powerful say so.

We are not spectators in this fight—we never have been. We’ve been taking on Trump since 2016. Without advertisers or billionaires, without anyone telling us what to cover or how to say it. Just reader-funded journalism and the unrelenting belief that this country belongs to its people.

If you believe that too, become a paid subscriber and help us turn Trump into the lame duck he deserves to be:

Hit the ❤️ like button and re-stack this edition now. Montana just found a way to cut corporate money out of elections entirely. Make sure everyone sees it before the regime buries it.

Onward!

Scott

I have two questions for you today.

What do you think about the effort to undo Citizens United in Montana?

How do you feel about the Army Secretary standing up to Pete Hegseth?

JUST A FEW OF MANY INFORMED COMMENTS:

πŸ’₯ Army Secretary Dan Driscoll just told Pete Hegseth “No” in writing and refused to resign. Montana found a real way around Citizens United, a small Wisconsin town crushed Big Tech at the ballot box — this is what winning looks like. πŸ‘Š πŸ’ͺ

The CU vote in MT is a ray of sunshine. If it passes All other states mist sit up and take notice!

I wish Driscoll every success. It has to be encouraging to many members of the military to see someone stand up to warrior/dictator Hegseth. Someone who has experience, honor and integrity!

1. The biggest threat to our lives, livelihoods and democracy is organized crime and corruption. Citizens United must be reversed if we are to survive at all.

2. Nothing but gratitude for Driscoll.

Thank you for the urgent actions.

I love what the retired general said about Hegseth making himself look bad all on his own. So much good news! It's just incredible how both these IA centers and buildings to use as concentration camps are being stopped by citizens and local governments.

These AI centers are NOT the big enemy. They are the future of the economy, and handled correctly will be a huge asset to states, not a disaster. If you simply require that they must agree to fund or supply half again as much energy as they use, it will end up being an asset.

And the water usage is not a huge problem, because this is just cooling water, and can be re-used by the site with little "consumed." The water can be discharged directly into local sources since it is not contaminated in any way.

It’s the way they’re going about it that’s the problem!

You have totally missed the point. The AI data centers are illegally spying on us. Dealer-Brokers are selling our private information to our government to track cell phones, website visits, even pregnancies. Reclaimed water is the least of our problems.

Why do you think that’s an economy anyone wants or needs?

Even Google’s AI response says this:

“Consumption vs. Withdrawal: Reports estimate that 45% to 60% of the water withdrawn for data centers is consumed (evaporated), rather than returned to the water source.“

Bruce..I see your point somewhat, BUT, the key words are "handled correctly" which also applies to using AI without the needed oversight and guardrails which do not exist. So it is not just the 'water' or the 'energy' the data centers represent but the overall impact on our cities and country. The Anthropic issue is a good example of how our government has tried overreach and failed (so far). AI will be our future but must have 'rules' to check the power. Thanks.

They are also not CREATING JOBS!

In addition, how do you know there is NO CONTAMINATION after running through pipes, coming in contact with other materials that can be absorbed by heated water?

There is no indication of the TEMPERATURE at which this WATER will be discharged.

There were similar issues created by HOT WATER discharged from NUCLEAR POWER PLANTS.

If TOWNS don't want these monsters - MASSIVE CONSTRUCTION - they have the right to say NO and are doing so!

AI DATA CENTERS ARE NOT ENVIRONMENTALLY BENIGN!

NOTE: these are just basic questions being raised by NON-EXPERTS...just simple stuff that goes beyond BRUCE's comment.

Another poster added this:

“Consumption vs. Withdrawal: Reports estimate that 45% to 60% of the water withdrawn for data centers is consumed (evaporated), rather than returned to the water source.“

It's HOT WATER - TEMPERATURE UNKNOWN!

It comes in contact with pipes, cooling mechanisms, other metals.

What will HOT WATER absorb? Will HOT WATER be amended by absorbing metallic particles? Will the chemistry of the water be amended? For instance, will it change the pH?

IT IS DISCHARGED AS HOT WATER! WITH NO DISCLOSED TEMPERATURE into

existing water sources. What's the impact?

Within the recent past, a NUCLEAR POWER PLANT in PLYMOUTH, MA was decommissioned - the HOT WATER DISCHARGED into CAPE COD BAY was one of many issues that was raised because it effected MARINE LIFE.

VOTING RIGHTS: REPORTED BY OUR LOCAL PBS STATION: DOJ TOLD NO!

A federal judge dismisses DOJ lawsuit seeking Massachusetts voter data

The ruling from U.S. District Court Judge Leo Sorokin in Boston marks at least the fifth time a judge has rejected similar attempts by the Justice Department. The judge found that the Justice Department failed to follow the requirements for demanding the voter rolls set by a 1960 civil rights law.

WBUR TODAY

Let's go back to the 'BEGINNING' - IRAN WAS ABIDING BY ITS AGREEMENT THAT WAS BEING INSPECTED...TRUMP ABANDONED THE AGREEMENT

The "cognitively irresponsible" presidency

Aaron Rupar and Thor Benson

February 7, 2025

If he does decide to initiate another military conflict, it almost certainly won’t involve any ground operations. Trump took office saying he would end America’s “forever wars,” but only those who weren’t listening very closely believed he had no appetite for overseas military adventurism. Trump loves a good bombing campaign, but favors operations that are quick, involve minimal risk to US personnel, and don’t require him to clean up after whatever mess he made.

In the first year of his second term, Trump bombed seven different countries: Iran, Iraq, Syria, Yemen, Venezuela, Somalia, and Nigeria. That’s not exactly a record of restraint, but it shows how he likes to operate.

Though Iran’s ballistic missiles and proxy groups are part of the official rationale, Trump is focused on the country’s efforts to develop its nuclear capacity. That’s why it’s so important to remember that we had an agreement with Iran that did, in fact, constrain its nuclear program. It was called the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), and it was painstakingly negotiated by the US, Russia, China, France, Germany, and the UK, and finalized in mid-2015. In exchange for sanctions relief, it put in place a monitoring system to ensure that Iran could not enrich uranium beyond what was necessary for civilian use. (Iran has always claimed, not very persuasively, that it has no intention to build nuclear bombs.)

When Trump took office in 2017, his own military and national security advisers tried to convince him that the JCPOA was working and would stop Iran from developing a nuclear weapon. But because it was negotiated under Barack Obama, Trump convinced himself that it was a disaster, and in 2018 he abandoned the agreement. To no one’s surprise, Iran then resumed its efforts to reach the capacity to produce nuclear weapons, leading us toward the place we are now.

He hasn’t even tried to persuade anyone

While Americans are well used to the cycle we’re in — escalating tensions, belligerent statements from both sides, a seemingly unstoppable march to war — there has been a gaping void where we normally find a vigorous propaganda effort.

We all know how it works: The president gives a big speech explaining what his goals are, administration representatives fan out to make the case, members of Congress debate whether it’s a good idea, diplomats are sent to persuade allies that they should join in the effort, and all of that creates waves of news coverage and analysis that help the public understand what’s at stake and what the potential outcomes are.

In its extreme version (e.g. the Bush administration’s preparation for the Iraq War), the government creates bogus narratives and fake evidence of the terrible danger America is in if we don’t immediately let loose with all our spectacular capacity to rain hellfire down on any country anywhere in the world. But even that presumes that without the legitimacy of public support, the war can’t proceed.

So much B/S

Don't discard or dismiss this information so easily!

It matters because IRAN was abiding by its MULTI-NATIONAL AGREEMENT

TRUMP IS STUPID & NO FACTS, NO EXPERTS, NO MILITARY ADVISER can convince TRUMP of his BAD JUDGMENT!

IT IS ONLY BECAUSE THE Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) was negotiated under BARACK OBAMA that TRUMP abandoned the AGREEMENT.

Even CRAZY ALEX JONES called for 25th Amendment!
