Hi, it’s Congressman Robert Garcia, the top-ranking Democrat on the House Oversight Committee.

I won’t sugarcoat it: FBI Director Kash Patel’s handling of the Jeffrey Epstein files has become a stain on our justice system — and it cannot stand.

It’s simple: The FBI Director must uphold the highest standards if we want our democracy and the rule of law to survive.

When the people lose faith in the integrity and transparency of the FBI, it erodes the public’s trust in our justice system and makes a mockery of the notion that no one is above the law.
